The Eagle
Well, we all know that the nation's bird is the Eagle, right? Ok, so the
Eagle stands for our nation, which Marines are proud to serve. Notice that
the Eagle holds a little banner? The banner holds the motto of the USMC,
which is "Semper Fidelis". Those of you who don't know what Semper
Fidelis means, *slap*....it means "Always Faithful" in Latin!
Red- Stands for the Blood they've shed.
The Globe
Alright, on to the Globe. What does this mean? The Globe stands for
World Wide Service.
You know, "in the snow of far off northern lands and in sunny tropic seas".
Blue- Shows the World that they are true.
The Anchor
Last but not least we come to the Anchor. Ever wonder what this one meant?
Well, you *do* know that the Marine Corps is a department of the Navy,
right? Right! Therefore, the Anchor stands for Naval Traditions. It was brought to my attention by Tom Collins that the anchor has a line (rope) rapped around it. This is a 'fouled' anchor. This shows that we Marines are NOT saliors. Thank you Tom!
Gold- Shows the World that they are bold.
Green- Shows the world that they're lean and mean.
They "requisitioned" the Eagle from the Nation,
the anchor from the Navy, and while everyone
was sleeping they stole the whole darned World!
